The mountain changed the unit of the journey. Days were no longer measured by places reached, but by breath, weather, and the steady repetition of one foot after the other.
The landscape kept remaking itself as the trail climbed: dense green giving way to exposed rock, low cloud, and eventually a palette stripped almost entirely to earth and sky.
What felt continuous on foot became a sequence in photographs—camp, trail, weather, faces, and the mountain moving in and out of view.
